Do your best to improve your own environment!
Dear Fellow Earthlings,
With all the controversy about whether Earth's environment is getting worse or not, it is incumbent on all of us to make the "personal environment which we carry with us -- no matter where we go -- as comfortable as possible.
However, each of us has to have an awareness not only of our individual needs and desires -- but also of those around us...
For example, for the first time ever, today (March 17, 2023) I decided to compose a blog at an "Internet cafe". I generally compose my blogs either at home or, less frequently, at work. At these two locations, it is I myself who has the greatest say in regulating the sights, sounds, smells around me. Likewise, I can adjust the light levels and/or the temperature...
However, at the internet cafe I have chosen today is a person who thinks that kerm ideas should be heard not only by the person sitting across from kerm -- but rather to everyone in the cafe. Kee continues to motormouth on topics ranging from kerm general philosophy about whatever kee happens to think about, be it as deep as the meaning of life -- or as mundane on how kee deals with higher prices for gasoline.
The person sitting across from this individual says not a word, but merely keeps listening...
I have retreated to the quiet of one of the two restrooms in this place. Even with the door shut I can hear the vibrations, the intonations of the "oblivious one's" fustian...
Since no one has yet tapped on the restroom door urging me to "Hurry up" with my business, I will just keep typing along...
To generalize: If a particular nation seeks to gobble up the nation next to it, what can an individual do to somehow ameliorate the "bad environment" that has been created?
Avoiding confrontation is important. So too is providing aid to the nation that is being threatened -- or even invaded by an outside threat. It is impossible to "retreat to a restroom" in this case.
Rather, "a peace facilitator" needs to maintain the strength of purpose to defend the rights of any nation whose very existence is being threatened -- while at the same time pointing out to the invading (or would-be invading) nation or nations that repercussions resulting from such a violation of international principles will outweigh by far any gains that might have been envisioned by the aggressor or aggressors.
