Not Hindsight, Not Foresight, but In "2020" Sight!!

Earthsaver 2019 (Greta) and Earthsaver 1 (Steve) together have 2020 foresight!

Dear Fellow Earthlings,

The greatest shortcoming I have as an Earthsaver is that I have been able to communicate my hopes and fears for Earth’s future to only a few people. I just do not have the skills needed to make use of the internet and all the systems that comprise it. Thus, I am unable to get my message out on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, or any of the other means that people use nowadays to communicate.

This is why I am particularly impressed with – and moved by – Greta Thunberg. In the short span of a year, Greta has joined a growing list of Earthsavers trying to do something about Earth's plight -- people such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Jane Goodall, Lee White, Al Gore, Bill McKibben, Elon Musk, Amory Lovins, Andre Bauma, Naomi Klein, among others. Greta has left such little recognized (albeit sincere) Earthsavers as myself in the dust and far.......................................behind.

Greta’s direct appeal to those in power is in the spirit of the truest form of democracy: She appeals directly to the leaders in a serious, no pulled punches approach in which she dares them to deny that scientists are right in their conclusion that the future -- and, now, the present! – is not looking good for Earths’s life forms.

To me, it is incidental that Greta is only 17 (As a matter of fact, today. -- January 3, 2020 -- Greta turned 17.). What is important is that she has shown me what it takes to make EVERYONE listen to her words. There are those who neither agree with what Greta is saying nor how she is doing so...

But she has awakened even the most somnolent of people. Now that we are all awake, we will hopefully start making moves to “do something” in many forms in the year 2020.

Not in hindsight, not in foresight -- but in plain, “2020” sight!!
