Our catch phrase is on its way.
Dear Fellow Earthlings,
It has been almost three years since I visited the Falkland Islands. Only now am I making an effort to return to those lovely bits of Heaven! I have been experiencing difficulties getting in touch with the people I met when I was there, however.
Yes, even though it seems as if I have only just returned from Walker Creek, I have discovered -- to my dismay -- that the nice couple I met there can no longer be reached by the email that I sent them. Here is the transcript of that email.
Dear Helen and Gonz:
This is Steve Walker, emailing you from Japan. I hope you remember me. I visited Walker Creek in August of 2013 during my visit to the Falkland Islands.
You two impressed me very much with your artistic sense and your considerate human values.
I have contacted you because I have a plan to establish an English training facility in the Falklands. Also, I need a female voice for a book I have written for Japanese people who wish to develop nativelike English pronunciation. I need your help in finding such a person.
The Falkland Islands, along with Oregon in the United States, Mont Saint-Michel in France, and Yaku Island in Japan are my favorite places on Earth. I hope that you two can work with me to make Earth more secure, to establish a close bond between the Falklands and Japan -- and to establish a pleasant friendship.
I tried to phone you just now but was not able to get through. Please provide me with your current phone number -- and your Skype name if you have one. Then we can discuss my plans further.
At Your Service!
Steve Walker
Rather than let the fact that I can’t contact those two wonderful people frustrate me, I will use it to take a plunge I have always avoided taking: I am going to see if “Twitter”, “Facebook”, and the like can be of help to me in networking my ideas to my fellow Earthlings on a greater scale -- and in a more efficient, effective, inspiring manner.
