Our catch phrase is on its way.
Dear Fellow Earthlings,
On Friday, the 22nd of April (2016) – the day before Earth Day -- 175 nations signed what United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki Moon called a “New Covenant with the Future”. It is hoped that the guidelines set forth in the agreement on climate change will take effect ahead of the original goal of (the year) 2020 – and, hopefully, this year!
As Secretary Ban Ki Moon said in his opening speech at the signing ceremony for the Paris Agreement on climate change on Friday:
“The world is in a race against time.”
Since time is of the essence, we must hurry! Bickering must be put aside as we seek the best for humanity and for the ecosystem that sustains it. For example, some people criticize Earthsaver Leonardo Di Caprio for flying around in airplanes, burning fossil fuel (thus polluting Earth's atmosphere further), as he travels to various places in search of solutions to various problems confronting Earth's ecosystem.
Such attitudes as this are counterproductive. Just as a doctor must sometimes hurt kerm patients as kee administers treatment to them, so too must Mr. Di Caprio (and Secretary Ban Ki Moon and Earthsaver Steve Walker) -- and others -- burn fuel as they make efforts to help achieve results that benefit the people and other life forms on Earth.
