Our catch phrase is on its way.
Dear Fellow Earthlings,
In view of the current situation in our world, on our Earth, I (being the jingles creator that I am!) have developed a modified form of the jingle “Money’s a matter of functioning four --- A Medium, a Measure, a Standard, a Store.” that I ask everyone to consider – and, indeed, to adopt!
“Money’s a matter of functioning five ---- A Medium, a Measure, a Standard, a Store ... And a Vector ensuring that Earth stays alive!”
You see, just as mosquitoes serve as vectors for spreading malaria, money can serve as a vector for spreading the wealth around. And if that wealth can be spread equitably, then no “poor countries” will exist – and all countries will strive to make sure that (for example):
1) Money serves as a MEDIUM OF EXCHANGE when Falkland Islanders are paid to remove unsightly wind turbines from their landscape so that they can purchase, say, expensive generators powered by ocean wave / tidal ebbing and rising.
2) Money serves as a MEASURE OF VALUE when heretofore starving South Sudanese receive (from “wealthy countries”) not only food (free-of-charge) but also training (free-of-charge) on how to use the latest methods for producing foods, but with attention given to preserving natural areas -- with monetary values applied to all aspects of the process so that the recipients gain a deeper understanding of what “monetary value” is.
3) Money serves as a STANDARD OF EXCHANGE, so that Americans stop importing items -- ostensibly cheaper than their American-made counterparts. A standard world-wide currency would be a worldwide means for ensuring that products and services cost the same, even though, say, pineapples cost more in Finland than they do in the Philippines due to the added costs of shipping and storage required to serve those pineapples to people in Finland.
4) Money serves as a STORE OF VALUE for Saudis who save somewhat on air conditioning costs during the relatively warm Saudi winter while they would pay the going (and expensive rate) for the same inside temperature comfort/survival levels during the stifling hot Saudi summer.
5) Money serves as an EARTHSAVING VECTOR by being employed not as a wealth generator, but as an “EARTH HEALTH GENERATOR” – which would result as a natural consequence of the synergetic functioning of the medium/measure/standard/store functions!
