Our catch phrase is on its way.
Dear Fellow Earthlings,
Just a brief rundown on what is happening to Earth on this her day:
The slaughter of African elephants continues unabated. More and more noxious gases continue to be emitted into the air by humans and their technology. The stronger political entities continue to bully the weaker ones. Plundering of the Earth’s resources by certain nations continues . Small, “unimportant” languages and the cultures they represent continue to disappear. Genetically altered life forms continue to appear in increasing numbers. Opportunistic plants, animals, and microbes continue to thrive in an ambience of the unbridled movement of people and goods around the world. Traditional nations are beginning to crumble under the continual stress and strain of globalization. Ways of life for both humans and non-humans continue to change drastically.
Is anything good happening?
Yes. For one thing, when it comes to the problems that are plaguing Earth, at least we are talking about them. In many cases, people are even trying to DO something about them. The main thing is that we must try to formulate solutions and then to implement them, modifying as we learn more about how effective (or ineffective!) they are.
We owe this to Earth, our mother, our home.
Happy Earth Day!
