Our catch phrase is on its way.

Dear Fellow Earthlings,

It has been a while since my last blog. The reason for this is simple: I had nothing to say. I was busy taking care of income taxes for last year, with repairs on my home, and running my business. There was little time for anything else…

Moreover, I have seen deteriorating conditions all over the world regarding how we humans are failing to utilize Earth’s bounty properly and efficaciously.

In short, I felt little inspiration to express anything, for I seem to be just wasting time expounding upon things that worry me – but do not seem to trouble anyone else.

Today, however, on the internet, I saw a giraffe tenderly greeting a man who, now dying of cancer, had worked caring for the giraffes at a zoo in the Netherlands. The sympathy in the eyes of the giraffe moved me. That creature’s heart is as big as its neck is long.

Compassion is a beautiful thing. More compassion from each of us toward one another and toward all living things is one of the most important tools for saving the Earth. The zookeeper in the picture surely possesses compassion, too. Otherwise, his visit to see his former charges would not have elicited this most beautiful behavior from this very wonderful giraffe.
