Our catch phrase is on its way.

Dear Fellow Earthlings,

Back in May of 1966 my high school, Collinsville High School in Collinsville, Illinois, published a collection of student literary endeavors called “Transition”. My contribution to that 24-page work was the following little poem:

“UNWANTED PERAMBULATION”

With but one effort I can go to the farthest part of space,

And just one wink can take my being to any foreign place.

Yes, my mind can transport me far or it can take me to areas near;

My only wish is that my mind would sometimes keep me here.

So you see that even 48 years ago, I was already thinking about bigger things than just my immediate surroundings. So little about me has changed, it seems.

I now add a follow-up poem:

“PRESERVATION, PROTECTION, AND POWER PROPAGATION”

With words sincere, and proposals abundant, I hope to move others,

To save our fellow life forms and the tongues of our sisters and brothers;

AND to preserve Earth’s ecosystem – through direct solar power employment,

In conjunction with other clean fuels – for both necessities and for enjoyment!
