Dear Fellow Earthlings,

Happy New Year! Best wishes for a wonderful 2014! Many Americans have a custom of making "New Year's Resolutions, wherein they resolve to do something different and productive in their lives, such as losing weight, giving up smoking, or taking up the study of something new. I have three resolutions for 2014: 1. I am going to make a huge effort to stop the slaughter of the African elephant. 2. I am going to continue my efforts to help bring the Seneca language back to good health. 3. I am going to awaken the Japanese public to the fact that their language is showing signs of impending decline -- with the possibility of extinction lying just over the horizon.

Humbly I pray for the health, strength, and intelligence to follow through on these resolutions!
