Dear Fellow Earthlings,
Being a Jingles instructor is very exciting! Today I saw a small glimpse of the future – and that future may be coming faster than I think! So many people are traveling these days that they are coming into contact with all sorts of “Englishes”. A good case in point is a “Mr. I”. “Mr. I” works as a funds analyst for a large international corporation. A native speaker of Japanese, he has spent four years in the United Kingdom. There, he obviously came into contact with many people.
The result is that when he speaks English, I hear elements in it of North American English, British English, and Austro-New Zealand English. Underlying these sounds is a primary synergy base of Japanese.
In the two months that “Mr.I” has been a Jingles client, his score has risen from the 85.1 that living in the United Kingdom had provided for him (Keep in mind that the average native speaker of Japanese has a score of 84.7 when kee pronounces gestures in English.) to a score of 85.7. The task of literally lifting his secondary, tertiary, and quaternary synergies up by means of speech task dynamics implementation drills is a formidable one. In effect, we are “raising the building’s structure up into the air” so that we can place an England-based English primary synergy base under it prior to then making necessary repairs/improvements/modifications on secondary and tertiary synergy gestures. Finally, we will polish his quaternary synergy speech motor skils application techniques to help “Mr. I” sound the way he wants to sound.
“Mr. I” was only vaguely familiar with the Falkland Islands when I told him that his current English pronunciation resembles a nascent form of the Falkland Islands dialect of English. Believe me: There would be nothing wrong with the world using the Falkland Islands dialect as a vector for international communication! As for “Mr. I”, he needs to reach the 89.5 level before we make a final decision about which variety of England-based English he wishes to use as his dialect of choice when he is speaking English.
