Our catch phrase is on its way.

Dear Fellow Earthlings, In response to the email I received from the Seneca person “Gentleman 9-10” yesterday regarding my request to visit the Seneca Nation, here is what I have sent him as a reply. Since my reply is so long, the first half is printed here – and the second will appear in tomorrow’s blog.

To “Gentleman 9-10”, Actually I am very well, knowing that I have a chance to help you locate your language's primary synergy. I want only what you and the other Seneca people want. Let me compare my feeling towards you with the feeling I have toward all endangered languages, cultures, plants, and animals: I do not have to swim with whales to love them. And I do not want to sit with tigers, but DO wish to protect them. I never have to see the inside of a Sikh Temple, but I wish to ensure that the Sikh people will always have their temples. And I need not speak a word of Seneca so long as the words are coming from the mouths of the Seneca people... My unique talent is my ability to deal with the sounds that come from people as they communicate with one another. One time in China I met an elderly couple who had come to Shanghai from the countryside and did not speak any of the major Chinese languages. Nor could they read or write. Various Chinese people were trying to help them but could not -- because they were not able to communicate with them. Suddenly the couple looked in my direction -- and we communicated as if by magic. I was able to put them on a flight to Detroit so that they could visit their son who was studying near Detroit. With my dark hair I have sometimes been accosted by white people -- but their antagonism swiftly vanished as they realized I am, in many ways (especially in the way I can reason with them from a position of strength, equality, friendliness, and harmony) just like them. I have kissed the hands of an angry black man, who broke into tears knowing I saw him as vulnerable, angry, but CLEAN! And I have seen a beautiful young Sioux woman who was offering to be my friend treated as an animal in a cage by a so-called social worker who ignored the fact that I was visiting the Sioux woman and should have been respected as her guest. (Not wanting to cause any trouble, I left the Sioux woman's home,) Ironically, many years later I learned that that young Sioux woman (daughter of a chief) is now a very dynamic spokesperson for the Sioux Nation. I shall go on with my stories at a later time with you and your people, if you like.

Please give my contact information to “Lady 9-14”. I will humbly go to Your Nation. After I speak with “Lady 9-14”, I will make plans for my trip. I want to help her gain the magic of "The Jingles". We must use the Jingles to help the Elders bring back baby talk for all Seneca people between the ages of zero and five, children talk for children aged six to puberty (the first menses for girls or the first facial hair for boys) -- and "The Jingles"after that. I look forward to working one-on-one with “Lady 9-14”.

(THE SECOND HALF OF THIS EMAIL WILL APPEAR IN TOMORROW’S BLOG, INSTALLMENT 113.)
