Our catch phrase is on its way.

Dear Fellow Earthlings,

Here in Illinois the temperature is around 32 degrees Celsius. We celebrated my father’s 88th birthday today. I am staying at the home of my uncle Donald (“D”) Walker and his wife Pat on their land just south of Troy, Illinois. D and Pat have been two of the most important people in my life. They are steady, cautious, friendly people and very pleasant to be around. This afternoon D, Pat, and I went to my parents’ home and celebrated my father’s birthday. After leaving the coolness of the Falkland Islands’ winter and the pleasant warmth of Oregon’s summer, experiencing the stifling heat here in Illinois is not any fun for me! Illinois has changed so much since the days when I grew up here. The population of the St. Louis area was about 1.2 million when I was born back in 1948. Now it is about 3.0 million. There are hundreds of thousands of cars -- and lots of concrete, asphalt, houses, stores, malls, and other man-made stuff everywhere you look! It is not pretty! At this time of year the singing of the cicadas fills the air at night. It is nice that the cicadas still sing out every August here in Illinois...After I got back to D and Pat’s home tonight, I worked on various Jingles projects.
