Our catch phrase is on its way.
Dear Fellow Earthlings,
Today the 200-year-old oak tree that I had cut down three years ago and then cut into huge logs that were stored in my larger outbuilding for two years before being sent off last month (just prior to my departure for the Falkland Islands) to be milled by a gentleman named Linden Park, came home. The logs that came from that tree have been turned into various shapes and sizes of beautiful white oak lumber. I plan to have some of the lumber shaped into doors and furniture for Summit House, my house on Reltonia (the name of my land in Oregon). In the meantime, all of the boards and planks (more than 2 tons of them in all) that were cut from that single tree are now stored in my outbuilding, with small wooden slats placed between them to allow them to continue to dry out properly. I do not know when I will be able to have that lumber made into doors and furniture, however. This is because in only 11 more days I will be going back to Japan. I got a lot of exercise helping unload all that lumber from the truck-and-trailer that brought it from the mill to the outbuilding on my land.
