Dear Fellow Earthlings,

(This blog was compiled in the Falklands on 7 August 2013 local time.)

My fourth birthday (on January 10, 1952) was spent in a small house down in a hole next to Route 159, 3 miles south of Collinsville, Illinois, and 10 miles north of Belleville, Illinois. I enjoyed playing with toy trucks and cars – and with my sister Rosalie and brother Frank. We had no television, so I felt wonderful when we would visit my grandparents on Hollywood Heights Road – because they DID have a TV. My favorite show was the Howdy Doody Show. I thought Princess Winter Spring Summer Fall was pretty. My father was away all day “hauling dirt” for people, so Rosalie, Frank, and I spent most of our time with Mom… Getting back to the present, today, on Carcass Island, I woke up at 4 a.m and packed my things. Before I knew it, breakfast was done and I was taking farewell photos of Rob, Lorraine, and myself. The plane arrived at about 11 a.m. After two stops along the way, the plane made its way to Stanley. I got settled into my room, had myself a nap, and then worked on blogs, sending 4 of them tonight. But I am still behind in my blogs due to the lack of opportunity to send them out while I was over in West Falkland.
