Our catch phrase is on its way.

Dear Fellow Earthlings,
Since I will be speaking with my first native speaker informant tomorrow, I spent all day today just getting ready for that. It will be my task to get him to relax and to say various Jingles that I have prepared. I have reserved a conference room here at the Malvina House Hotel for the purpose of recording the informant’s utterances.
It was a nice rainy day today, very conducive to staying in my room and working. Tonight before dinner I went over to the community sports center and played some basketball with some of the local people. One of them, a man from Chile named Christian (who is a waiter here at the Malvina House Hotel) has loaned me an extra pair of his basketball shoes, so I was able to do much better than I had last week when I tried to play basketball in shoes that had smooth soles. The rainy weather helped, for I always get into my best form at just about anything when it is rainy!
After basketball, I had a nice dinner here at the Malvina House Hotel. I ordered blackened tooth fish with Asian slaw and steamed jasmine rice as the main course. I also had creamed spinach, a mixed garden salad, a glass of Chilean wine, and -- for dessert – a “tasting of chocolate”, which included a soft cookie, chocolate crisp, chocolate ice cream, and 2 chocolate brownies. More about the nice cuisine here in tomorrow’s blog.
