Our catch phrase is on its way.
(This blog was compiled in the Falklands on 30 July 2013 local time.)
Dear Fellow Earthlings,
This morning I prepared for some presentations I will give at the Stanley Primary School (called the “Infant and Junior School”) tomorrow afternoon.
After lunch I walked to a place that I thought could help me with a tour itinerary and spoke with two sisters (named Sue and Sheena), who recommended that I contact a tours manager named Tony Mason. But when I went to the tours office, nobody was in. So I will try to contact either Tony or his colleague Stephanie Middleton tomorrow.
Next I dropped by a gift shop run by Teddy and Sybie Summers. I met them a few days ago when I purchased a woolen scarf and cap at their shop. Sybie was kind enough to call a taxi for me so that I could get over to the museum here in town and talk with the director of the museum, a lady named Leona.
Leona is a sister of Sue and Sheena, whom I met earlier today. Leona was very interested to hear what I had to say about “the Jingles”.
Hopefully all of this effort I am making will provide me with the opportunity to get some people to help me develop Falkland Islands English Jingles.
As I walked along Ross Street headed east, back toward my hotel, I got some great pictures of various seabirds hanging out along the promenade to which Ross Street runs parallel. I walked to Shorty’s Diner (where I had eaten the first evening I was in the Falklands). I enjoyed a beer, pork chops, green peas, mashed potatoes, and a small salad. Then I walked all the way back to my hotel. I sent this blog out at about 10:30 p.m.
