Our catch phrase is on its way.
Dear Fellow Earthlings,
I got up at about 6:30 this morning. At 7:30 I contacted my school in Japan (where we teach “THE JINGLES” (See installments 25, 26, 28, 33, 36, 37, 38, 40, 42, 43, 44, 46, 47, 53, 59.) because I was scheduled to conduct “initial measurements” of 4 prospective Jingles clients at what we call a “trial session” (which is, of course, free of charge). All 4 of the prospective clients had quite good English speaking skills. However, their English speech motor skills were deficient. Jingles training is precisely what they need in order to develop their oral/aural English communication skills the most quickly and effectively. After I took care of these duties, I had breakfast at the Malvina House Hotel, where I am staying. Then I walked across the street from my hotel to the office of "Penguin News", the Falklands’ newspaper (which comes out every Friday). I was lucky to be able to speak with Lisa Watson, editor of the paper. After Lisa heard why I am here in the Falklands, she kindly provided me with several names and phone numbers so that I might pursue my plans further. Lisa was able to understand quite a lot of what I wish to do as I told her of my need to speak with Falklanders in order to learn more about their dialect. This is because Lisa has one year’s experience studying linguistics in university. Later today I took a taxi to the Department of Agriculture where I was able to speak with a Nyree Heathman and arrange for the possibility of making a trip out to "the Camp" as early as this Friday.
