Our catch phrase is on its way.

Dear Fellow Earthlings,

I cannot say enough about the pristine air here in the Falklands. On the other hand, I AM dismayed at the amount of litter along the roads. The amount of litter is not nearly so bad here as I have seen in other countries, but I just can’t understand why the Falklanders can’t manage their trash better. I was also surprised that they do not recycle bottles or cans… I did do some sightseeing today. I walked along Ross Road and took pictures of sea birds, kelp, Christ Church cathedral, the whale baleen monument next to the cathedral, and of the 1982 Liberation Memorial to the British Forces and civilians (3 of them) who perished in the Falklands War. Everything that I saw moved me very much. By the way, a member of the British Forces (out of uniform) happened by as I was taking photos of the cathedral and the whale baleen monument. He too was taking photos. I had him take a photo of me in front of the cathedral and baleen monument -- and he had me take a similar one of him. The weather here today was partly cloudy, with light winds, and the high temperature was about 7 degrees Celsius, not very cold, as I see it… Several of the local people tell me that up until a few years ago, there was always lots of snow here this time of year, but that now it hardly ever snows in winter. They all mentioned the term “global warming”. Yes, it is becoming obvious to everyone that global warming is not just something made up by “whacky environmentalists”.
