Our catch phrase is on its way.
Dear Fellow Earthlings,
When I go to the Falklands, my main goal is to document the type of English they speak there. I plan to modify my 366 Jingles (“A Jingle a Day Keeps the Accent Away”) to fit the Falklands style, the Falklands way of life…Today I am busy preparing my camera and videocamera so that I can record sound bytes to support my findings. Also while in the Falklands, I plan to capture the images of nature in that faraway, mysterious place. On this, my last full day in Oregon prior to my departure for the Falklands, I had Tim Snair, son of a longtime friend of mine here in Oregon, haul off 6 huge logs, all from the same 200-year old oak tree. That tree began to split down the middle three years ago, so I (sadly) had it cut down. I then kept the huge logs under cover for 3 years to dry out. Tim hauled them to a gentleman named Linden Park, who will cut the logs into sizes appropriate for fashioning them into doors and possibly, pieces of furniture.I told Linden that I will pick up the chunks of lumber he cuts after I return from the Falklands. The rest of the day I was busy packing and otherwise preparing for tomorrow’s departure for the Falklands.
