Our catch phrase is on its way.

Dear Fellow Earthlings,

My first birthday was spent in Illinois, where my father had lived most of his life. But Mom became homesick for her native Central America, so in the spring of 1949 one-year-old I, along with my mother and father, headed for Panama. First, we went from St. Louis to New Orleans -- Nobody seems to recall whether it was by train or by car. Then we took a United Fruit Liner, which took 3 ½ days to sail from New Orleans to Panama. My father soon had a job down there and my mother took care of me at home. I had lots of fresh fish and fruit and vegetables. The air was clean. I do believe that the clean food, water, and air that I took into my body at that young age helped develop my brain -- and my whole body in general – very much! And I had the privilege of meeting Francisco Figueroa, pharmacist and poet – AND my grandfather. I also met my grandmother GuiIlermina Figueroa. I learned both English and Spanish. I enjoyed playing with a little red toy car. Life was good.
